Solar Employees Honored As Heroes

Hermitage city commissioners honored two employees of 91´«Ă˝ of Western, PA for jumping into a pond to rescue a motorist. At a ceremony last week, Jeremy Greer and Justin Hoffman were named heroes for their bravery and selfless acts of courage. According to the proclamation, “The prompt response of Jeremy and Justin averted a tragic loss of human life.”
While working in the plant on a Saturday night around 6:00pm, the men heard a loud noise. They rushed outside to find a car upside down and sinking in a pond across the street. The driver had been thrown from the car and was lying face down in the water. Jeremy and Justin ran to the crash scene and quickly went into action. Justin rescued the driver while Jeremy dove into the murky water to ensure that there were no passengers in the car.
Back at the plant, Marc McDanel called 911 while Jeff Stellman single-handedly kept the furnaces running. Jeremy and Justin stayed with the unconscious driver until help arrived.
Solar would like to thank the fast thinking of all of our weekend shift employees who went over and and above their duties. We are grateful that due to their heroism and teamwork, a human life was saved.
