All-Metal Hot Zone Furnace Installed
A new VFS HL36 EQII with an all-metal hot zone made of moly and stainless steel has been placed in operation late February, 1998. The all-metal hot zone applications are for exceptionally clean heat treating functions, where there can be no possibility of carbon contamination. The furnace is capable of cycles up to 2400°F with working dimensions of 24″ wide, 24″ high and 38″ deep.
Vacuum heat treating processes that utilize the furnace’s super clean environment most frequently include precipitation age hardening, solution treating, bright hardening and tempering applications.
Industries that will utilize the all-metal hot zones include medical, aerospace and electronic. Â However, when there is a need to prevent any carbon contamination of sensitive materials, such as inconel and inconel alloys, titanium and the PH stainless steels, the all-metal hot zone furnace is made for the job.
